House rules

Below you can find the most important house rules that apply while you enjoy your stay at Kasteel De Vanenburg. We kindly ask you to respectfully comply with those rules.

1. Security camera's are to be found at various places around the estate. By staying in our hotel,  you agree on being recorded. In the event of calamities or other incidents, these recordings can be showed to a third party as supporting material.
   
2. At check-in a valid ID must be presented. Check-in is possible for persons over 18 years old.
3. In the event of willful damage to the property of Kasteel De Vanenburg, one can be held liable to reparation and/or renewal costs.
4. It is strictly prohibited to consume, use, trade or carry any narcotics during your stay.
5. It is prohibited to light any candles in our rooms and bathrooms.
6. It is forbidden to cause nuisance to others in or around the hotel and estate. For example: loud music, lewd behavior or noise of any kind. In the case of serious disturbance of other guests we reserve the right to charge extra for the inconvenience. When failing to comply with this rule, one warning will be given. If you fail to comply after one warning, we will request that you immediately leave the premises in order to guarantee peace for our other (hotel)guests.
7. If we ascertain that you are responsible for damage in the hotel room or any other building on our estate and/or additional cleaning is needed, we will charge extra costs of at least € 150,00
8. Prostitution and/or sexual activities against payment are strictly prohibited. If such activities are detected this will immediately be reported to the police. This will also lead to immediate eviction without any option of a refund.
9. It is not allowed to smoke in our hotel or in any other rooms or halls at our estate. This also applies to the use of electronic cigarettes. If we find there has been smoking in the room, we are forced to charge € 100,00 in cleaning costs. If the fire alarm goes off due to smoking in the room, we will charge you the extra call-out costs of the fire brigade.
10. We do not serve alcohol to anyone under the age of 18. We can ask for a valid ID at any time. We also reserve the right to deny serving alcohol to persons who, in our opinion, are already in an apparent state of intoxication.
11. It is not allowed to occupy the hotel room with more people than the number for which the reservation is made.
12. Pets are not allowed, with the exception of guide dogs and registered assistance dogs. 
13. Placing decorations in the halls or hotel rooms is your own responsibility. All decorations must be removed after use. If this does not happen and we are forced to remove the decoration and throw it away, we will charge extra personnel costs of a minimum of € 50,00 (costs can increase if more than 1 hour is needed for the clean-up). Throwing confetti and/or rice is not allowed. Any cleaning costs and/or technical defects resulting from breaking this rule will be borne by the guest. 
14. All use of fireworks and/or the releasing of wish balloons is not permitted on our estate. 
15. Kasteel De Vanenburg is not responsible for the loss, destruction or theft of your belongings. 
16. Found items will be stored for one month. Therefore we require you to collect any items left behind and/or forgotten within one month after your stay. 
17. All instructions related to the house rules from the employees of Kasteel De Vanenburg must be followed. All remarks can be reported to the management.
